Revelations 2 is a step in the right direction. That being said, I've felt like this series really deserved the "horror" moniker past Code Veronica. This game took a huge step away from those games in terms over the top action and having a second beef bus partner to shoot at everything with you. I take a look at the first mission of chapter ix of the raid mode in resident evil revelations. The actual singleplayer co-op is only available locally and even if you have someone to split screen it with, the second player doesn't have the kind of role they did in RE5 and RE6. When people refer to co-op in this game, they are usually talking about raid mode. They just weren't scary enough to be counted as horror games, mostly because of that co-op option. Now, don't get me wrong, I liked those previous games, but only as shooters. And what's left when you remove the horror from the game? Just plain old and average 3rd person shooter. Mostly because the game was so forgiving for the mistakes, because you always had that co-op partner, be it AI or another player, backing you up. It kinda ruined the whole horror genre in the franchise for me (though it wasn't the only thing). Originally posted by JiiPee:Co-op is another thing I never liked in the previous games.
